    Physics

The CBSE Class 11 and 12 Physics syllabus covers a wide range of topics from mechanics and thermodynamics to optics and modern physics. Class 11 focuses on fundamental concepts like motion, forces, energy, and properties of matter, while Class 12 delves into electricity, magnetism, optics, and the quantum world. Both classes include practical components with experiments and activities

    Class 11 Physics Syllabus:

Unit I: Physical World and Measurement: Introduces the concept of physical world, measurement, units, and dimensions.

Unit II: Kinematics: Deals with motion in a straight line and in a plane, including displacement, velocity, and acceleration.

Unit III: Laws of Motion: Focuses on Newton's laws of motion, inertia, friction, and circular motion.

Unit IV: Work, Energy, and Power: Covers work, kinetic and potential energy, power, and the work-energy theorem.

Unit V: Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body: Explores center of mass, momentum, torque, and rotational motion.

Unit VI: Gravitation: Covers Kepler's laws and Newton's law of universal gravitation.

Unit VII: Properties of Bulk Matter: Explores elasticity, stress, strain, and elastic moduli of solids.

Unit VIII: Thermodynamics: Deals with the first law of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and various thermodynamic processes.

Unit IX: Behavior of Perfect Gases and Kinetic Theory of Gases: Explains the behavior of ideal gases using the kinetic theory.

Unit X: Oscillations and Waves: Covers periodic motion, simple harmonic motion, and wave characteristics.

Practical Work: Includes experiments on observation of state changes, effects of heating, surface tension, and factors affecting heat loss.

    Class 12 Physics Syllabus:

Unit I: Electrostatics: Covers electric charges, fields, potential, capacitance, and Gauss's law.

Unit II: Current Electricity: Deals with electric current, resistance, Ohm's law, and electrical circuits.

Unit III: Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism: Focuses on magnetic fields, Biot-Savart law, Ampere's circuital law, and electromagnetic induction.

Unit IV: Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents: Covers electromagnetic induction, AC circuits, and transformers.

Unit V: Electromagnetic Waves: Deals with the nature and properties of electromagnetic waves.

Unit VI: Optics: Covers reflection and refraction of light, optical instruments, wave optics, and interference.

Unit VII: Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter: Explores wave-particle duality, de Broglie relation, and Davisson-Germer experiment.

Unit VIII: Atoms and Nuclei: Covers atomic structure, radioactivity, nuclear fission, and fusion.

Unit IX: Semiconductor Electronics: Deals with semiconductor devices, diodes, and logic gates.

Practical Work: Includes experiments on resistivity, resistance using a meter bridge, and experiments on diodes and transistors.
